Some Venezuelan citizens have rejected acting President Delcy Rodriguez’s trip to the United Nations, where she is expected to speak at the General Assembly this week and meet privately with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. “I completely disagree with the UN welcoming that illegitimate woman in New York,” Nuris Medina told CNN while attending a protest in Caracas this morning alongside dozens of others. Rodriguez became acting president in early January after the US captured President Nicolas Maduro in a military operation. He is being held in New York on various charges, which he denies. Rodriguez initially criticized Maduro’s arrest but has since had various dealings with the Trump administration, including an agreement for the US to control 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil.
